In 1981 a disheveled crew of surfers, scoundrels and a lone cook turned an East Hampton back alley into a meeting place for artists, anglers, bonackers, bankers, weekenders, and wayfarers that would one day become The Blue Parrot. The lone cook set out to create a drink that would capture the essence of this unlikely community, and The Dirty Bird Margarita was born.
This bold and bracing concoction quickly became the drink of choice among The Parrots fiercely loyal devotees. It embodied the spirit of the place—refreshing yet daring, simple yet unforgettable. Every sip carried the taste of salt air, the heat of summer, and the raw energy of the East Hampton scene.
